Youth looking for a work experience or internship opportunity this summer can now apply directly to the summer program online. Remember that no paper application versions will be accepted this year, except in special circumstances as decided by the Director of Youth Programs.

Encourage youth and young adults in your network to visit the AAWDC Youth Works! website today and begin their career finding journey!

This is a “sneak peak” soft launch, with an official announcement scheduled in the next couple weeks. Please email me with any questions and/or to share your feedback and thoughts about the new site.

When funds are available, our Youth Services division sponsors a summer employment program for eligible youth ages 14 to 21. This six week program provides the opportunity for youth to work 30 hours per week and earn $8 per hour. The goal of the program is to connect youth with public and private sector employers so they can gain an appreciation of the labor market, gain insights into their own strengths as employable citizens, and learn marketable skills. The selection of participants is based on the eligibility criteria set by the funding source, which may vary each year. If funds become available for the upcoming summer, this Web site will be updated with a link that will provide further details.  Click here to check for additional updates: Baltimore County Department of Economic & Workforce Development
